New Mexico Summer Enrichment Internship Program

Program Goals:

Since 2021, our goal has been to provide high school students with the opportunity to participate in high-quality internships with government agencies and community organizations, including county, tribal, and/or municipal placements. The Public Education Department proudly continues the Summer Enrichment Internship Program in Summer 2026 with the support of Education at Work, the Work-Based Learning Alliance, and Britebound.

Who We Are:

Education at Work (E@W) is a national nonprofit committed to reshaping the education to career journey through paid, flexible work-based learning opportunities. We connect high-school and college students with employers, helping employers develop talent pipelines while offering students meaningful experiences that bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical workforce experiences.

Work-Based Learning Alliance (WBLA) is a nonprofit dedicated to expanding equitable access to high-quality, career-connected learning for high school students across the United States. Founded to address long-standing barriers such as geography, transportation, and inconsistent employer capacity, WBLA designs and delivers scalable programming that ensures every student can meaningfully explore and prepare for future careers.

Britebound is changing how young people see themselves and their future. Our mission is to inspire young people to explore their passions, experiment with potential careers, and navigate a path to a meaningful and rewarding future. We envision a future where all young people have the opportunity and access to career-readiness learning to make informed, confident decisions about their future.

Together, E@W + WBLA + Britebound combine operational excellence, innovative learning design, and a student-centered approach. This partnership enables us to deliver a high-quality, equitable statewide internship program for New Mexico high school students.
